The third weekend of August I spent down in Chicago with my boyfriend as our last hoorah before I go across the pond to Ireland. This trip we've spent most of our time trying to find the best places to eat and views to catch. I have a huge fear of FOMO (fear of missing out) whenever I'm traveling for short amount of time because I never want to miss out on what the city has to offer. To help guide us into figuring out best places to eat at, google was our best friend. A simple google search and reading through reviews brought us to some of the coolest restaurants and bars Chicago has to offer.
My top restaurants were all located in the west loop area. We found ourselves constantly trying a place to grab our meals there because of the variety of food offered. We both agreed our favorite place to eat at was called Cabra Cevicheria, this is a Peruvian-inspried menu and also a rooftop restaurant! We ate brunch here and got seated right away.

We ordered three shareable plates in addition to the free dish the kitchen made an extra. The Classic Ceviche was the first time I ever had a dish like this, my favorite part of this dish was the sliced sweet potatoes. Our other three dishes were Salchipapas, Ocotonomiyaki, Quinoa Sourdough Peruvian Toast. They came out in that order as well, the Salchipapas was uniquely served as diced french fries with a delicious yellow mayo sauced poured over the chorizo and poached egg. Next came out the Octonomiyaki, who knew octopus would be such a delicious dish for brunch? I didn't! The octopus pieces were served with rice and poached egg. My favorite dish from the whole trip and came out last was the Sourdough Peruvian Toast, the thick piece of toast was drowned in strawberry jam and passion fruit honey with ice cream on the side. This brunch fulfilled all our needs for a sweet and savory pallets we have!

View, views, and even more views. I felt like the whole trip we were trying to stop at every rooftop bar Chicago had. Our first rooftop bar was the London House, this was my favorite one from the weekend because we were able to catch the sunset off of the reflection from the skyscrapers. This view overlooked the river and offered great drinks. We did have to wait in line in order to get up to the rooftop bar but only took 15 minutes. WORTH THE WAIT! After the London House, we went over to Cindy's. Cindy's looks over Millennium park and is on top of the Athletic Association Hotel. Cool views and cool vibe was captured on this rooftop.

From the view at Cindy' we were able to see the Chicago skyline light up the sky. West loop had couple of call rooftop patio's, Aba contemporary boho chic patio was shown through their patio furniture and lighting. Super cool place we grabbed dinner at the first night that had rooftop bar as well. We went to Waydown for a drink which looks over the city from distance away, another awesome spot to grab a drink. Also Cabra, the restaurant I mentioned above had a amazing rooftop bar and patio with a POOL! Unfortanley we weren't able to check it out because of rain but if it was nice out would've loved to enjoy the view and atmosphere there with a drink.
Safe to say had an amazing time in Chicago taking in all the views, amazing food, and vibes the city had to offer with my boyfriend. Cheers!
